Gordo in NY

Not only has Gordon Ramsay set his sights on Tokyo, he's bringing it to New York.

Rachael comes home

I loved this news segment about Rachael Ray returning to her hometown to cook a benefit dinner.

Be sure to click on "Watch the Video", where the best Capital Nine News can do is film some shots of the Rachael Ray section on the Food Network website. Hilarious.

Kitchen Confidential Piliot update

Bradley Cooper of "Alias" fame has snagged the lead role in Fox TV's pilot based on Anthony Bourdain's best seller, "Kitchen Confidential".

More Gordon

This Miami Herald article is the second best I have read on Gordon Ramsay.

The article is a good reminder that simply a love for cooking does not make one suitable for life in a professional kitchen. The conditions are demanding and pleasantries are not always exchanged.

My favorite part, "
His four small children have not been to his restaurants or seen his other life and personality."

No more Sloppy Joes?

How about the taco lunch? Jamie Oliver is behind a movement to improve the quality and nutrition of Britain's school lunches. Tony Blair, ever mindful of any opportunity to improve his approval ratings, has banded behind the lispy chef's agenda.

For a laugh

I found this Iron Chef spoof from the Shreveport Times amusing. The food actually sounded good. No celebrity chefs here though.

A good chef always shows up

Wolfgang Puck bravely catered the post-Oscar dinner while on the verge of hip surgery.

Owww! Sorry, bait and switch. How about win a copy of her cookbook?

Enos, you dipstick

Rocco finally comes forth with a public apology for destroying what could have possibly been a huge success and made him into even a bigger star. Rocco, you not only proved to be a complete ass, but you practically spit on the millions the Jeffrey Chodorow invested in you.

Just for the pic

Here's a puff piece on Giada De Laurentiis by the Rocky Mountain News.
Yah, I know, not really newsworthy and juicy, but most of the chefs I profile aren't running around like Rocco making asses of themselves.

I don't get this channel

I wish I had BBC America on cable, just so I could watch Gordon Ramsay's "Boiling Point". This new show (actually, it was filmed years ago) chronicles his quest for 3 Michelin stars. Filled with tension, profanity, and the kicking out of food critics, it's sure to be entertaining.

Tuesday nights on BBC America.
Food Network, are you listening? Bring this to the people.
