Quieres Comer?

Bad-boy Bourdain will be the the keynote speaker at the Expo Comida Latina New York come September.

Ok, you can go to this other food related blog... but no others!

My main man Tyler Florence will be blogging from around the world for the "Canned Food Alliance. His eight once a week postings will "include simple recipe preparation guides and information about the global regions Florence visits."

Be sure to check out www.Mealtime.org beginning yesterday.

Hot Deal

Apparently, when the luscious Nigella Lawson's husband was suffering from terminal cancer, he gave her the go ahead to marry one of his pals. This is straight out of one of those highly acclaimed movies that no one sees.

Me? I'd still be jealous in death.

Freshly caught

None other than Wofgang Puck will be directing meals at the world famous Georgia Aquarium.
Looks like a place for high society's high school proms.

No more Food Network for Bourdain

Previously, I've posted that the Food Network programming staff has been infected by the editors of Redbook, Ladies Home Journal, and People magazine. Seriously. Sure, I was caught up in the "Next Food Network Star" special, but most of their new content is weaker and more sacharrine than a room temperature Diet Coke.

Leave it to the Travel Channel to develop a new, edgier series titled "No Reservations" starring Anthony Bourdain. Just like he said when I met him at a book signing, "I'm gonna milk this celebrity chef thing for all it's worth".

Monday Nights at 10pm, the Travel Channel.

Were they the Jets or the Sharks?

Rachael Ray's on the road adventures continues with her latest $40.00 a Day segment filmed in Puerto Rico.

Kitchen Confidential show update

Anthony Bourdain likes what he sees.
Show debuts on Monday, Sept 19 on FOX.

Confidential Settlement

This article from South Africa's Daily Dispatch looks like it could have been written in 2001. However, it is the first piece I've seen that mentions Anthony Bourdain's split from his wife.

Don't balk on this Choy

I've been getting a lot of press on Sam Choy lately. I might have to add him on my list of chefs to watch. I bet you'll be hearing more from him, as he spreads his style of cooking from Hawaii to the mainland.

Hot Austin Nights

Looks like the Austin chef scene is getting hot... Alton Brown lost a cook-off to local chef Jeff Blank at the "Super Chefs Live" event.

Wear your profession on your sleeve

I saw this very amusing NY Times slideshow featuring chefs' tattoos.

Put some English into it.

Todd English is now pitching Michelob beer. I remember as a kid this was the type of endorsement reserved for Joe Piscopo and Bob Uecker.

She should have gone to "Ruby's"

It's a really sweet BBQ joint in Austin, TX. But, since I've only been in Austin once, and lack Rachael Ray's advance team, she probably has some quality joints picked out.
Ms. Ray was just in Austin to film her ever-popular "$40.00 a day"

"The new waiter doesn't know what prosciutto is, and my heart sinks."

Bradley Cooper, star of the upcoming Fox TV show "Kitchen Confidential" has been honing his culinary chops in preparation. He won't exactly be flying blind, as this excellent article from the Waterloo Cedar-Falls Courier points out.

If you've read Anthony Bourdain's book by the same name, you too are hoping the series covers the whole range of debauchery and wretched excess he chronicled.

Brit in Japan (part 2)

Well, Chef Ramsay's new Tokyo eatery is underway. I still believe he's spreading himself too thin, but this article almost convinces me he can pull it off. Even with a New York eatery in the works.
